 Find yourself back in the 1800s, where rumor has it that a vampire uprising is happening deep within the twisted heart of Wallachia, Transylvania. In Castlevania, players can be one of two brave hunters who travel to Transylvania to investigate. Players can select from either the dashing and daring Reinhardt Schneider who carries a whip and short sword for close attacks, or the impetuous Carrie Fernandez who fires magical projectiles and wields a pair of blade rings for hand-to-hand combat. There are items to collect during the course of your adventure which may prolong the life of your character long enough to survive. These items include livestock to restore health, sacks of gold, weapon power-ups, healing kits, and moon and sun cards which can turn days into nights or vice versa. Both characters end up taking different paths and dealing with different storylines, but in the end they have to face down the same wretched demons including death itself. |

Play straight through to rescue Daisy or collect the toys that Huey, Dewey, and Louie have left on each level for special bonuses. The action changes from level to level and so does the perspective. One minute it's side-scrolling thrills and the next it's up and down action with Donald running head first into the fray. The N64 game starts in the year 2015, 15 years after Second Impact. The Angels have returned and suddenly attack Tokyo-3. Using so-called "terror-fields" that cannot be penetrated by ordinary weapons, the Angels are taking on every human force sent out to oppose them. That's where you come in. As the pilot of the NERV-designed Evangelions, Shinji Ikari, you take your giant humanoid combat mech into battle with the Angels. Gameplay can best be described as interactive anime, as it relies heavily on timed button presses. |

The game's four different modes are Quest, which requires beating each character in succession; Versus, which allows you to compete with up to four players simultaneously in any set of teams you desire; Roster, in which you select several fighters to back up your primary fighter; and Practice, an option that allows you to practice your moves in a low-stakes environment.
